Master in Plant Biotechnology

Formation's goal

Career opportunities

The objective of this specialty is to offer training which aims to provide higher education in the various fields of biology, physiology and plant pathology. Due to the diversity of the approaches taught, the Master allows
students to acquire a broad, multidisciplinary training that will allow them to approach the study of the plant world in all its dimensions, namely knowledge of agronomic practices, crop protection, water control and the impacts on the environment, on varietal selection and the improvement of the production of agro-resources which call on the latest techniques of plant biotechnology and genetics. This knowledge will be illustrated by examples from traditional local productions such as cereals, market gardening, fruit growing and vines but also by new crops which are developed in collaboration with the various partners in the agricultural sector for their development interests.

Students will also be required to undertake the functioning and socio-economic mechanisms that regulate a company, to analyze and interpret data and variables whether economic or scientific, to master some management concepts and the main techniques of communication .

The objectives of the program are to develop the following skills:

Train specialized operational managers with a very good command of technological tools in the following areas:

  • Biotechnology applied to plants of agricultural and agro-food interest
  • Natural resource management
  • Environmental and agro-food biosafety for the application of safety standards related to genetic engineering

the Master also aims to be a meeting point between professional circles and the academic world. The purpose of this course is to train researchers and senior managers specialized in this training course.
