I would like to introduce myself to you: Professor FARAH.Z, professor and head of the obstetrics and gynecology department at Blida University Hospital.
The severe gestational hypertension (SGH) research laboratory is a research project with scientific and public health aims. Severe pregnancy-induced hypertension is a pathology that affects pregnant women, most often young; it is the cause of significant maternal-fetal mortality and morbidity. It is the leading cause of maternal mortality in the world.
The etiologies and factors triggering serious complications are not completely elucidated; the onset of physiopathological phenomena is early, systemic diffusion and multi-visceral involvement are discreet and the occurrence of complications is often a paroxysmal accident such as the onset of eclamptic seizures or the occurrence of a retroplacental hematoma. Fetal mortality and neonatal complications are very high, either due to fetal suffering caused by the vascular condition or by prematurity induced in the event of a maternal complication.
One of the main objectives is to provide answers as to the profile of Algerian patients who develop HGS, what are the specific markers warning of HGS and especially how to optimize maternal-fetal management of serious complications and therefore reduce the morbidity and mortality of HGS.
The severe pregnancy-induced hypertension research laboratory is made up of five teams with well-defined objectives:

1- Obstetrics and gynecology: Screening and management of severe pregnancy-induced hypertension.
2- Internal medicine: Study of environmental and vascular factors of HGS
3- Anatomy-pathology: Study of trophoblastic products
4- Biology: Study of biological markers of HGS
5- Resuscitation: Prevention of neurological and hemorrhagic complications at HGS
