Educational Objectives
Professional Prospects
The architecture program aims to prepare architects with multi-dimensional roles:
-
Designer & Practitioner: Bridging the gap between conceptual design and operational reality.
-
Environmentally Conscious: Addressing challenges of the built environment and ecological sustainability.
-
Entrepreneurial Mindset: Focused on innovation, technological advancement, and modern socio-economic shifts.
-
Academic Preparation: Equipping students with the foundational skills for advanced research and academic pathways.
First Year: Foundations & Exploration
-
Fundamental Principles: Acquiring the core basics of architectural design.
-
Exploration: Discovering the diverse fields and scopes of architecture.
-
Representation Tools: Mastering architectural communication through:
-
Technical Drawing: Standardized representation and drafting.
-
Visual Training: Developing the eye to appreciate proportions and scale through simulation.
-
-
Creativity: Stimulating imagination and fostering creative thinking.
Second Year: Integration of Constraints
-
Contextual Synthesis: Reconciling physical, environmental, and socio-cultural constraints within the project.
-
Knowledge Expansion: Integrating contextual variables into the “Project-based Learning” (PBL) methodology.
-
Urban Awareness: Introducing preliminary principles of:
-
Typo-morphological Analysis: Studying architectural types and urban forms.
-
Object-Environment Dialectic: Understanding the relationship between a building and its surroundings.
-
Social Dimension: Internalizing the social impact of architectural space.
-
Third Year: Synthesis & Methodological Mastery
This pivotal year acts as a bridge between understanding and creation, turning architectural reading into project production.
-
Methodological Mastery: Gaining command over design tools and architectural methodologies.
-
Corpus Building: Constructing a structured body of knowledge and references.
-
Concept to Conception: Managing the transition from abstract ideas to concrete architectural designs.
-
Dimensions: Integrating formal, functional, structural, and environmental dimensions into urban and architectural projections.
Fourth Year: Project Management & Technology
-
Professional Roles: Understanding the roles of the Client (Owner), Lead Designer, and Construction Supervisor.
-
Process Management: Managing the project lifecycle from programming and conceptualization to execution.
-
Building Culture: Applying construction techniques and integrating technological innovations into practice.
Fifth Year: Specialization & Graduation (PFE)
-
Theoretical Corpus: Establishing a solid objective, methodological, and contextual foundation for complex projects.
-
Final Graduation Project (PFE): Demonstrating the ability to synthesize five years of learning through an independent project addressing contemporary architectural challenges.
The distribution of architectural education centers across the national territory can help meet the needs related to production in the construction and public works sector.
The diversity of tasks and functions assigned to the architectural profession constitutes part of the demand from all sectors, organizations, and institutions related to urban services, local authorities, and the construction and public works sector.
Building production also requires management and maintenance services, ensuring activities related to upgrading, rehabilitation, and the renewal of the living environment.
Employment in the private sector (self-employment) is also considered. Professional accreditation (license) is obtained through a procedure that includes completing a professional internship and registration in the National Register of the Order of Architects.
In conclusion, employability is guaranteed in proportion to the needs of the various sectors and the services of urban and municipal authorities.
