Welcome to the Institute Library
The current Library of the Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning at Saad Dahlab University of Blida 1 was established in 2016 and constitutes a fundamental pillar of academic resources. To date, the library’s collection includes approximately 5,000 specialized books in architecture, urban planning, and heritage engineering, in addition to more than 1,500 Master’s and engineering theses.
The dedicated library staff is committed to assisting users and meeting their bibliographic and research needs. Furthermore, our library serves as an open space for hosting academic conferences and various activities that contribute to the enrichment of teaching and scientific research.
The Library of the Institute of Architecture has a seating capacity of approximately 160 readers and consists of:
- A reading room with 160 seats for the Institute’s students.
- A circulation and lending desk.
- Library administration offices.
- A lecture hall.
Borrowing System
Professors
Number of books allowed for borrowing: 4 books
Loan period: 20 days
Renewal period: 10 days
Doctoral Students (PhD Students)
Number of books allowed for borrowing: 4 books
Loan period: 20 days
Renewal period: 10 days
Master's and Bachelor's Students (Master's and Undergraduate Students)
Number of books allowed for borrowing: 2 books
Loan period: 10 days
Renewal period: 5 days
- Books for which only one copy is available cannot be borrowed for external use. They are available for in-library use only and must be returned to the library on the same day.
- Copy No. 1 of each title is not available for external borrowing and may only be used within the library. It must be returned to the library on the same day.
- Borrowed materials must be returned before the end of the loan period. Any delay in returning the borrowed materials will result in a suspension of borrowing privileges for three days for each day of delay.
