July 08, 2026

As part of the official celebrations commemorating the 64th anniversary of the restoration of national sovereignty, marking Independence and Youth Day (July 5, 1962 – July 5, 2026), University of Blida 1, like various other state institutions, commemorated this glorious national occasion. This event embodies the duty of loyalty to the sacrifices of the martyrs of the blessed liberation revolution and reinforces the values of belonging and pride in Algeria’s glorious history.

On the morning of Monday, July 6, 2026, the Rector of the University of Blida 1, Professor Bezzina Mohamed, oversaw the commemoration ceremony. The event was attended by members of the university community, including executives, professors, staff, students, and representatives of social partners.

The ceremony commenced with the raising of the national flag and the recital of the national anthem, followed by the laying of a wreath of flowers at the university’s memorial monument. A minute of silence was then observed, and the opening chapter of the Holy Quran (Al-Fatiha) was recited in mercy of the souls of the glorious liberation revolution’s martyrs, in recognition of the monumental sacrifices they made to restore national sovereignty and preserve the nation’s dignity.
