The Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology (ISTA) in Blida was established in 2016. It is affiliated with Blida 1 University and aims to provide short-term training programs (three years) in the food industry sector for students holding a baccalaureate diploma. The institute combines high-quality supervision with modern and innovative pedagogical approaches.
ISTA’s mission is to train qualified technical professionals capable of meeting the needs of the local job market, with a focus on technical skills, management, and innovation. The creation of the institute came in response to the demands of local economic partners seeking specialized technicians in fields such as cereal technology, beverages, and dairy products.
ISTA was established within the framework of an Algerian–French partnership, supported by French experts and through cooperation with industrial companies in the region, ensuring that the training offered aligns with market needs and professional standards.
Duration of training: three years, leading to a Professional Bachelor’s Degree.

This program aims to train specialists capable of efficiently managing and marketing food products, combining technical knowledge with modern marketing strategies.
In2022, ISTA Blida established a Master’s Program in Food Technology, complementing the professional training already offered by the institute in the food industry sector. This program aims to train highly skilled specialists capable of developing and managing technical processes in the food field.
The master’s program offers graduates wide career opportunities in food industry companies, laboratories, and technical consulting, as well as access to research projects and entrepreneurial initiatives in the food sector.
