At the gracious invitation of Huawei Algeria, the Rector of the University of Blida 1, Professor Mohamed Bezzina, participated in the ICT Day 2026 event. Organized under the theme “Inspiring Talent to Shape the Future,” the event marked the conclusion of Huawei Algeria’s Tech4Connect competition. This prestigious contest brought together a select group of students, innovators, and tech enthusiasts in a competitive environment designed to foster creativity and develop cutting-edge technological solutions.

Throughout the event, participants worked on projects leveraging the latest technologies, including 5G, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Digital Power. These projects were divided into two main tracks aimed at finding practical solutions to real-world challenges and supporting the digital transformation and innovation roadmap.

The participation of University of Blida 1 students culminated in a remarkable achievement, with the university team securing second place in this high-level competition. This victory reflects the excellence and innovative spirit of the university’s students in the fields of technology and scientific research.

The awards ceremony took place at the Sheraton Hotel, attended by Huawei representatives and key stakeholders from the technology and innovation sectors.
