-
Laboratory Title: Chemistry of Natural Materials and Biomolecules
-
Abbreviation for informant:
-
Laboratory Director: Professor Dr. Al-Hattab Muhammad
-
Number of teams: 4
-
the address: University of Blida 1, Route de Soumaâ, P.O. Box 270, Blida (09000), Algeria, Faculty of Sciences
Objectives of scientific research and technological development:
1- Valuing the biological, chemical, and pharmaceutical diversity of marine organisms.
2- Exploiting the results obtained In the field of coastal environment, marine chemical ecology, and industrial valorization.
3- Utilizing ethnopharmacological data In valuing endemic plant species.
4- Developing green analysis techniques For secondary metabolites, relying on spectroscopic techniques and/or linkage techniques with separation or pre-concentration methods.
5- Synthesis and semi-synthesis of chemical isotopes For secondary metabolites isolated from the marine environment, with the development of clean and environmentally friendly synthesis pathways.
6- Utilizing biochemical and microbiological technologies In the valorization of natural products, such as searching for super-producing strains of enzymes (proteases and peroxidases) for application in the treatment of complex wastes rich in proteins and organic materials (hydrocarbons) found in seawater.
7- Developing databases Specifically, regarding the isolation of pure materials and their valorization in various sectors.
8- Completing maps of marine organism distribution In particular, marine vegetation, with the aim of exploiting it in chemical ecology, environmental protection, and coastal development.
9- Launching labeled/approved projects In partnership with the socio-economic sector and relevant industrial institutions, with the aim of promoting scientific results.
