On Tuesday, December 16, 2025, the Department of Civil Engineering at the Faculty of Technology organized a national study day titled: “Construction Techniques and Practices in Algeria” (TPCA’25), held at the University Sports Complex. The event was supervised by the Vice-Rector in charge of Development, Foresight, and Orientation, Dr. Ait Saadi Mohamed Hocine.
According to Dr. Si Ahmed, the chair of the study day, the meeting aimed to examine major field constraints in order to propose concrete measures to optimize infrastructure quality while ensuring durability and reliability. Special emphasis was also placed on the role of modern technologies, particularly Building Information Modeling (BIM).
The event saw broad participation from professors, experts, engineers, professionals, and researchers, as well as civil engineering students. The program included scientific presentations covering the following themes:
Roller-Compacted Concrete (RCC).
Structural pathology, diagnosis, and rehabilitation.
Risks associated with sloping terrain development and structural stability.
The use of BIM in construction projects.
Best practices for project execution in Algeria.
The proceedings concluded with a discussion session, providing an opportunity to exchange visions on the development of the construction sector.
