Objectives of the license

Profiles and skills targeted

What Does This License Contain?

LCO is one of the LMD training licenses in the field of material sciences. It is spread over 04 semesters in SM common core and 02 semesters of specialization in organic chemistry.

At the University of Blida, the formation of the organic chemistry license is done in the chemistry department of the Faculty of Sciences under the responsibility of Mr. A.Ouradi.

The main objective of the LCO is to provide students with a body of good quality knowledge necessary to produce specialist graduates in organic chemistry. These graduates will therefore be able to integrate into the industrial or academic field in a master's degree just by reusing their knowledge acquired in LCO.
To follow this license, the student needs his knowledge acquired during his training in the first and second year, more particularly knowledge in chemistry and organic chemistry.

He must therefore know:

the molecular structure, the nature of chemical bonds, the electronic effects, the stereochemistry of molecules, the nomenclature and the reactivity of the main functions of organic chemistry (alkane, haloalkane, alcohol, amine, carbonyl derivatives, alkene, alkyne)

Gateways to other specialties

Holders of this academic license may be admitted, depending on availability, in:

-Master in organic chemistry

– Masters in Applied Chemistry

– Master in Polymer Chemistry

– Master in Food Chemistry

– Master in Drug Chemistry,

They can also go into other areas of chemistry or science and technology.

The fundamental teaching units (UEF) intervening in S5 and S6 are used to introduce specific notions to the students through the courses and the Tutorials, we quote the units:

- UEF1: Study the chemical reactivity of mono and polyfunctional organic molecules.

- UEF2: Study the chemical reactivity of heterocycles

- UEF3: Study metal complexes

- UEF4 : Study the notions of Polymers and their reactions

- UEF5: introduces spectroscopic Techniques and studies molecular characterization

- UEF6 : Studied therapeutic organic chemistry

- UEF7: Study the chemistry of natural products

- UEF8 : Study theoretical Chemistry

-

The methodological teaching units (UEM) intervening in S5 and S6 aim to introduce the student to the scope of synthesis, analysis and control through practical work, We quote here:

-UME1 of S5 : Separation techniques and chromatography

-EMU2 from S5 : Organic synthesis

-EMU1 from S6 : Synthesis of bioactive molecules

-EMU2 from S6 : Quality control

The rest of the teaching units give general and necessary information for organic chemist graduates

-S6 DSU : Pesticide Chemistry

-S5 UED : Environment

-UET : English
