Commemoration of National Martyr’s Day at University of Blida 1

As part of the university’s commitment to consolidating national memory and fostering a sense of citizenship and belonging among students—honoring the sacrifices of our righteous martyrs and drawing inspiration from their values to build the Algeria of tomorrow—the University of Blida 1 commemorated National Martyr’s Day today, Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

Held under the theme “Faithful to the Martyrs’ Pledge, Building the Algeria of Tomorrow,” the event marks the official anniversary on February 18th and was attended by various members of the university community.

Highlights of the Commemoration:

  • Tribute Ceremony: The event commenced at the Flag Plaza with the recitation of Al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs, followed by the laying of a wreath at the memorial monument in an atmosphere of reverence and reflection on the heroism of the Liberation Revolution.

  • Cultural & Educational Activities: Organized by the Sub-Directorate of Scientific, Cultural, and Sports Activities in collaboration with the Arts and Creativity Club, the program featured:

    • A performance of the National Anthem by club students.

    • A lecture on the pivotal role of the student movement in supporting the Liberation Revolution.

    • A documentary screening on the life of the Martyr Bouamama Djillali.

    • A revolutionary theatrical performance and a national choral presentation by the students.
