Grain and Grain Derivatives Technology

This diploma opens up broad horizons for you in the food industry sector, and more specifically in controlling the production, processing and quality control of grain products and their derivatives such as flour, semolina, biscuits, sweets, pastries, bread and others.
It also provides you with the necessary skills in managing production, innovation, and developing new grain-based products, with a focus on quality control in accordance with the standards in force in the food industry.

-Understanding the types of grains used in the food industry such as wheat, corn, rice, barley, oats, and others.

- Gaining knowledge of the physical, chemical and biological properties of grains and their impact on conversion and manufacturing processes.

-Learn the different stages of grain processing, from harvesting to converting it into finished products, including storage, cleaning, grinding, cooking, and more.

-Mastering the techniques for monitoring the quality of raw materials and finished products, including tests for texture, viscosity, color, moisture content, and others.

-Understanding food safety standards and government legislation related to the grain and grain derivatives industry.

-Developing practical skills in formulating grain-based products, developing new products, and improving manufacturing processes.

Job opportunities for graduates of this certificate include several positions within grain and grain derivative production companies, most notably:

Production Manager:  Supervising production processes, including receiving raw materials (such as wheat, flour, or semolina), processing, transforming, and packaging them.

Quality Officer:  Managing quality control procedures to ensure products conform to standards and guarantee their food safety.

Project Manager in Research and Development: Developing new products, improving existing processes, and working to increase profitability.

 Head of the laboratory:  Conducting physical, chemical, microbiological and sensory analyses to monitor the quality of manufactured products.
