Poultry production plays a vital role in the national strategy to ensure food security for Algerian consumers. Poultry meat and eggs contribute to meeting their nutritional needs for animal protein at a low cost. This sector is strategic to the country's economy and requires strict health controls to ensure its harmonious growth. However, the persistence and emergence of certain diseases, particularly avian salmonellosis, hinders the development of this sector.
