On Monday, June 22, 2026, the Rector of the University of Blida 1, Professor Mohamed Bezzina, participated in the coordination meeting of the Regional Conference of Universities of the Center. The meeting, held at the headquarters of the Higher School for Teachers of the Deaf and Mute in Beni Messous, was dedicated to monitoring the preparations for the 2026–2027 academic year, in implementation of the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

This meeting served as an opportunity for consultation and coordination of efforts among higher education institutions in the Central region. Several priority files were addressed, including:

• Strengthening English language training.

• Reviewing academic training offers.

• Promoting entrepreneurship within the university environment.

• Monitoring the “Study in Algeria” program for hosting international students.

• Supporting university institutions in their path toward obtaining the ISO 9001 quality certification.

Participants also discussed the current state of university services and ongoing preparations at the student residential level, including accommodation, catering, transportation, and healthcare, to ensure the best possible conditions for welcoming students and guaranteeing the success of the upcoming academic year.

This meeting comes within the framework of an ongoing commitment to improving the quality of education and university services, as well as enhancing coordination among various stakeholders to ensure a successful academic season that meets the aspirations of the university community.
