University of Blida 1 Enhances its Leadership by Organizing a Study Day on Pedagogical AI and E-Learning

University of Blida 1 recently hosted a significant study day titled “Pedagogical AI & Expertise in Online Course Certification Day,” held under the supervision of the Vice-Rectorate for Pedagogy. The event took place at the conference hall of the Institute of Architecture and Urbanism, initiated by the Local Committee for Distance Learning and the Development of ICT in Pedagogical and Research Environments.

Official Opening and Strategic Vision

The event was officially opened by Professor Omar Cheknane, Vice-Rector for Pedagogy, representing the Rector of the University. In his address, he highlighted:

  • Leadership: University of Blida 1’s pioneering role in distance learning.

  • Digital Innovation: The continuous efforts to develop digital platforms and enhance e-learning quality.

  • University 4.0: Aligning academic standards with the requirements of “Fourth Generation” universities.

  • AI Integration: Adopting Artificial Intelligence as a fundamental pillar to modernize teaching methods and improve pedagogical interaction within digital spaces.

Objectives of the Study Day

Dr. Leila Ouahrani explained that the primary goal of the event was to empower professors and researchers in designing e-learning courses. Key focus areas included:

           AI Tools: Leveraging AI to develop and adapt educational content to student needs.

           Certification: Developing skills for the accreditation of digital certificates.

           Knowledge Exchange: Sharing expertise in distance education practices.

Core Pillars of the Program

The event was structured around two main themes:

Pillar I: Pedagogical AI in Medical English

  • Focus on teaching and learning Medical English.

  • A practical case study conducted via the University of Blida 1 Moodle platform.

Pillar II: Online Course Certification Training

This technical segment covered:

  • The national framework for expertise and workflow.

  • Course structuring and the “Pedagogy Charter.”

  • Enhancing interactivity and student engagement via Moodle.

  • Case studies on the certification and accreditation process.

Conclusion

The event saw a high turnout of faculty members and doctoral students, reflecting a growing interest in integrating AI solutions into higher education and scientific research.
