02/26/2026

As part of the university’s policy to promote health awareness within the academic community, the Socio-Medical Center of Blida 1 University, in collaboration with the Medical School’s Scientific Club (Wemedistes), organized an awareness and outreach day focused on diabetes and the Holy Month of Ramadan. The event took place at the center’s headquarters.

The event saw a distinguished turnout from the university community. Discussions emphasized the vital importance of fostering health awareness and promoting a culture of prevention, particularly regarding chronic diseases—most notably diabetes—during the fasting month of Ramadan.

Event Program Highlights:

  • Scientific Lectures: Insightful presentations delivered by a group of distinguished professors and specialists in medicine and nutrition.

  • Free Screening: A dedicated station for free blood sugar testing for students.

  • Awareness Activities: Sessions aimed at promoting healthy behaviors and lifestyle habits.

According to the center’s physicians, this initiative is part of the university’s ongoing efforts to enhance public health on campus, encourage early detection, and establish a culture of prevention as a collective responsibility.
