Library of the Institute of Architecture and Urbanism

About the Library

Established in 2016, the current Library of the Institute of Architecture and Urbanism at Saad Dahlab University, Blida 1, serves as a cornerstone of academic resources. To date, the library’s collection includes 5,000 books specializing in architecture, urban planning, and heritage engineering, along with more than 1,500 Master’s and Engineering theses. Our dedicated library staff is committed to assisting users with their bibliographic requests and research needs. Furthermore, our library serves as an open venue for academic conferences and any activities that contribute to the enrichment of both teaching and scientific research.

Library Lending System

  • Single-Copy Documents: Books with only one available copy are strictly for on-site consultation (internal use only) and must be returned to the desk on the same day.

  • The First Copy (Copy No. 1): For any title with multiple copies, Copy No. 1 is reserved for internal use only and is not available for external lending; it must be returned before the library closes.

  • Returns and Deadlines: Borrowed materials must be returned before the loan period expires.

  • Late Penalties: Any delay in returning borrowed items will result in a suspension of borrowing privileges. A penalty of three (3) days of suspension will be applied for every single day of delay.

 

Professors
  • Number of Borrowed Books: Up to 04 books.

  • Loan Period: 20 days.

  • Renewal Period: 10 days

PhD Students
  • Number of Borrowed Books: Up to 04 books.

  • Loan Period: 20 days.

  • Renewal Period: 10 days

Bachelor's Students and Master's Students
  • Number of Borrowed Books: Up to 02 books.

  • Loan Period: 10 days.

  • Renewal Period: 05 days

Library Registration

 

Registration is conducted at the library desk. To register, students must present their University ID Card, and faculty members must present their Professional Staff ID to the circulation staff in charge of lending

Thesis Deposit Procedure

 

Master 2 students must submit their final graduation thesis in PDF format on a CD. The submission must include the cover page and reflect all post-defense corrections to be eligible for the Clearance Certificate (Quitus)
