The Faculty was established in 1998, following the merger of two pre-existing institutes: the Institute of Agricultural Sciences and the Institute of Veterinary Sciences.

The official creation of the Faculty of Sciences (from which the Faculty of Natural and Life Sciences later emerged) was formalized by Executive Decree No. 98-253.”

The Department of Biology was integrated in 2000, pursuant to a Ministerial Decree

The Faculty of Agricultural, Veterinary, and Biological Sciences was officially split into two distinct structures: the Faculty of Natural and Life Sciences and the Institute of Veterinary Sciences, within the University of Blida 1.

This reorganization was established by Executive Decree No. 03-279 of 24 Jumada al-Thani 1424 AH, corresponding to August 23, 2003, amended and supplemented, which defined the number and specializations (designations) of the faculties and institutes comprising the University of Blida 1.”

In line with other faculties, the LMD system (Licence, Master, Doctorate) was implemented in 2004 with a small number of students, eventually reaching a total of 485 students.
