The club organized FOODTECH ISTA affiliated with an awareness campaign entitled “No to wastefulness”Attached is a practical workshop on How to read food labelsThis took place at the University of Blida 1, with the active participation of students.
This activity aims to spread the culture of responsible consumption and reduce the phenomenon of food waste, by raising students’ awareness of the importance of preserving food resources and adopting simple daily behaviors that reduce waste.
The workshop also included simplified explanations on how to read the information on food product labels, such as:
- Production date and expiry date
- List of ingredients and their order by quantity
- Nutritional values (calories, fats, sugars, proteins)
- Food additives and the symbols printed on the packaging
The activity witnessed a great response from the students, as it contributed to enhancing their nutritional awareness and enabling them to make healthy and informed decisions when purchasing food products.
This activity comes as part of the FOODTECH club’s efforts to organize scientific and awareness initiatives within the university community, contributing to the consolidation of positive behaviors and the promotion of health and environmental culture.
