The research days for doctoral students in integrated circuit design DRDIC'26 have begun.
On Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at the Sidi Abdallah Technology Hub, the research days for doctoral students in integrated circuit design, DRDIC'26 (Doctoral Research Days in IC Design), organized by the Detection, Information and Communications Laboratory (DIC) of the Department of Electronics, Faculty of Technology at Blida 1 University, in cooperation with the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CDTA), began on September 29 and 30, 2026.
The first day witnessed the presence of the staff of the Faculty of Technology and the Department of Electronics at Blida 1 University, headed by the Dean of the Faculty, in addition to the staff of the Center, headed by the Director, along with professors, researchers and experts from within the country and from the Algerian scientific community abroad, in a scientific meeting that sheds light on one of the most technological fields related to the future of industry and digital transformation, which is represented by electronic chips and integrated circuit design.
Semiconductors (chips) are of increasing strategic importance as a fundamental component in various modern technologies, from computers, smartphones, and communications to automobiles, artificial intelligence, industrial systems, and medical devices. Developing national capabilities in integrated circuit design and cultivating specialized expertise is a crucial step towards enhancing technological sovereignty and reducing dependence on advanced electronic technologies.
The DRDIC'26 program includes specialized lectures, presentations of doctoral student work, scientific poster sessions, and mini-projects in circuit design, providing a space to present and discuss research results with experts, and encouraging scientific exchange and cooperation between the university, research centers, and the technology sector.
This scientific event highlights the pivotal role of the university and research centers in building national competencies and developing research in the field of electronic chips and integrated circuit design, in line with the rapid transformations taking place in the technology sector globally.
