This workshop was supervised by Professor Rahal Abdel KarimWith the valuable participation of a number of research professors, veterinarians, and practitioners in the field, while The workshop's guest of honor was Professor Jalal Adel, Director of the Institute of Veterinary Sciences.He emphasized in his opening speech the importance of this type of scientific meeting in linking academic research with professional reality.

The workshop's activities focused on the topic of horse lameIt is one of the most common health problems and has a significant impact on the functional and athletic performance of horses, requiring accurate diagnosis and comprehensive treatment.

📅 Program for December 6: Science Day

The first day was dedicated to lectures and scientific presentations that addressed three main themes:

  • Horse breeding in AlgeriaIn terms of production, reproduction, nutrition, and healthy management;

  • Equine medicineCommon diseases, methods of prevention, and the latest therapeutic innovations;

  • Managing the lameness of horsesDiagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and practical aspects.

These sessions provided a fruitful scientific space for dialogue and exchange of experiences between Professors, researchers, practicing veterinarians, and professionals in the horse breeding sector.

📅 Program for December 7: Practical Workshop

The second day was dedicated to a practical technical workshop aimed exclusively at practicing veterinarians, and included:

  • Clinical examination of lameness in horses associated with tendinitis;

  • Principles of ultrasound imaging of tendons;

  • How to act in emergency situations;

  • Medical treatment, managing the recovery period, and rehabilitation.

This practical workshop enabled participants to enhance their practical skills and link theoretical knowledge with field application.
